Us on our wedding night back in 2022!

Who We Are

Hi, we're Rebecca + Michael.

Husband, wife, university sweethearts, parents to two little boys and the two people behind Cosy Palm Creative.

We met studying Film Production over ten years ago and somehow ended up doing what we always loved doing, making things that make people feel something.

Our Story

We're a husband-and-wife creative duo living by the sea with our two little boys, making photographs and films for people who want to remember their lives exactly as they felt.

We met over ten years ago while studying Film Production at university. Somewhere between late-night library sessions, endless snack runs and making questionable student films together, we fell in love — and discovered that we shared a pretty big love for making things, too.

Fast-forward a decade, a wedding, two babies and a whole lot of life later, and here we are.

Cosy Palm started with Rebecca and a camera. A love of sentimental, soft photography, and an even bigger love for the in-between. The windblown glances, quiet laughter, your nan having the time of her life on the dance floor, the way someone looks at you when you're not paying attention. The photographs that might not seem like the "big ones" at the time, but somehow become the ones you treasure most.

And then there's Michael.

By day, he's a professional trailer editor, spending his working life turning moving images, music and sound into something that makes you feel. Film has always been his thing, so bringing that into Cosy Palm felt like the most natural next chapter for us. When you book photography + film, you'll get the two of us together — Rebecca behind the camera and Michael capturing all the movement, voices, laughter and tiny moments that photographs alone can't quite hold.

And if you hate having your photo taken? You're very much our people.

Neither of us particularly enjoys being on the other side of a camera, so we completely get it.

You don't need to know what to do with your hands. You don't need to practise poses. And you definitely don't need to spend your wedding day performing for us.

Rebecca's approach is calm, relaxed and gently guided. We'll give you space to actually be together, with just enough direction to stop you wondering "erm... what do we do now?"

One of the loveliest things we hear afterwards is:

“That was so much easier than I thought... and actually fun!”

That's exactly how we want it to feel.

A little bit about the 'Palm'...

Being by the water has always held something special for Rebecca. Childhood summers visiting Cornwall, marvelling at seemingly endless sandy beaches and waves that felt absolutely gigantic when you're little.

Without really planning it, the coast has quietly woven itself through some of our biggest memories too. Our wedding. Pregnancy. Family photographs. Motherhood. Ordinary afternoons with our boys.

There's something about salty air, windswept hair and bare feet that makes everything feel a little more like us.

And that's really what sits at the heart of Cosy Palm.

Love, connection, joy — and remembering the ordinary bits alongside the extraordinary ones.

Photography and film give us this slightly magical ability to press pause on a life that otherwise moves ridiculously quickly. To keep someone's laugh, the way they held your hand, the people gathered around a table, the version of yourselves that existed right then.

Not just for now.

But for the grey-and-old version of you. For your children. Maybe their children.

And for all the versions of you still to come.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, we'd absolutely love to meet you.

Little Things I Love

Favourite season and why?

Summer holds a special place in my heart, but Autumn is literally just the best thing ever. Seasonal coffees, stunning nature, cosy outfits. Not to mention, anything pumpkin related. I’m a big fan of the months ending in ‘ber’.

Go-to order at my favourite coffee shop?

If a coffee shop has a caramel latte, hot or iced, I’m good to go. I’m also a sucker for any kind of limited edition or seasonal drink. Love, love, love gingerbread or caramel waffle lattes in the colder months.

Three things that bring me instant joy.

  1. My toddler giggling

  2. Walking around TK Maxx or any kind of home goods shop

  3. An ice cold, crispy Coke or Dr Pepper

Favourite film or TV show?

One thing you need to know about me is my special interest in Titanic. The movie, the actual ship, the tragic story. It’s been a lifelong fascination and I will talk for as long as you’ll let me about how much I love it.

I also love The Parent Trap (1998) and I think watching that film on loop as a kid inspired my interest in filmmaking, storytelling and visual aesthetics.

TV show wise, I love Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The White Lotus and my guilty pleasure is the US version of The Office.

Favourite place I’ve ever travelled to?

I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places so far in my life, including getting engaged in Reykjavik and honeymooning in New York. I was fortunate enough to live near Christchurch, New Zealand for 6 months as a child, and the adventures I had and memories I made while there have stuck with me forever.

Dream photoshoot location?

Cannon Beach, Oregon + Nantucket!
